On Thursday, we went to the zoo.
On Friday, we went to the zoo again.
We have been waiting so long for some sunshine, it was nice to be out in the warm weather both days.
On Thursday, I met my friend Tiffany, her husband and her daughter Lanie at the zoo.
Tiff and I were best friends in elementary/middle school, we grew up across the street from each other. We spent many a day outside jumping on our trampoline to Mariah Carey songs :)
She had moved out of state, and then I went away to CA for college, but she moved back to Colorado last year and we have been trying to get together ever since.
It finally happened!
Tiff is a freelance photographer and she recently started her own photography business, so it was nice to talk with her about cameras, lenses, composition etc. It was also a great learning experience for me too, to watch a professional at work.
We also talked about motherhood, turning 30, and our dreams for our little ones...basically we picked up right where we left off.

One of the things I love about Max is how well he gets along with other kids, I think this is because he spends so much time with other toddlers and of course his little brother. After a few minutes of shyness he and Lanie hit it off and were running around like best friends, very sweet to see.

| Eli sat on this bench and flirted with people walking by for awhile. Such a social butterfly. |
I have missed this girl and it was so nice to reconnect.
Tiffany is an amazing mother, and I am glad to have her back in CO, we are already planning our next get together!

Even though we were sore and slightly sunburned from our trip the day before, we braved the zoo again on Friday.
I think I have finally learned the lesson that the zoo is always crazy busy on Fridays, it was like every single school decided to take a field trip that day, but we still had lots of fun spending time with friends.
We met Nicole, Rebecca, Donna, and Sarah and made our way around the exhibits.

| Max gets along really well with Allie, she is a year older than him. She grabs his hand and pulls him from place to place, and he is happy to follow along :) |
The highlight of the day was a pit stop for some ice cream.
It felt like a summer day, it's amazing what some sunshine can do for your soul.
After about 8 hours out of the last 48 spent at the zoo both boys (and me) were ready to go home.
Max woke up this morning and said, "No more zoo today."
So I think we will wait awhile before we go back.
On the plus side, the boys have been learning a lot about animals, Max has been talking non-stop about camels and flamingos (also known as pink geese).
We are grateful for these precious days with friends, lots of vitamin D, and learning opportunities for the boys.
