A week of keepin' on

I've been a little out of sorts this week. There are a lot of changes happening around here, most of them are good and necessary, but I always find myself dragging my feet in times of change.

So we left some of the party decorations up for a few extra days. We celebrated Max being two every single morning. Eli even got in on the fun when big brother tried to share balloons with him...

I also let Max zoom his car around inside the house. Eli was looking at it longingly so we let him sit in it too and his shy smile was so worth it. Who says that birthday parties have to be packed up and put away the day after they happen?
----------

I was thankful to have some company on Wednesday afternoon.
My friends April and Nicole came over to do some crafting and chatting.

Handprints, Max: 24-months Eli: 4-months. These are some lovely flowers my friend Nicole brought me. They certainly brightened my day :)
We made imprints of our little ones' hands in a homemade flour+salt mix. It was actually relatively easy and I love the result. I like the way Eli's print is small and compact while Max's is big and shaped like a turkey. :)

April and I took the opportunity to capture some pictures of Eli and Beckett in their Thing 1 and Thing 2 onesies, since I didn't get a single picture of them together at the party.

We got so many cute photos! When you put these two next to each other they naturally reach for each others hands...it is just so sweet to see. To get the pictures of them on their tummies together, April had to hide behind the stool and hold onto their legs to make sure they didn't roll off. I can see a tiny piece of her white shirt in those photos and it makes me laugh every time. :D

Aww...I think Eli is flirting already ;)

I like how they both have a leg up in the air in this one!
Time with friends is so uplifting. I know I say this a lot, but I don't know what I would do without my friends.

Julian was incredibly sweet and offered to take the boys to the park when he got home from work today so I could have a break/nap. Not too long after they left I got a text with the following picture:

Apparently, Max went around to all of the playground equipment, drew some M's with sidewalk chalk, and declared, " Mine."

My first thought was that it's pretty cool that he can make the letter M. My second thought was that we need to spend more time talking about sharing at home :)

----------

Our weekend is a blank slate and I am looking forward to some refreshing family time. Uncle Chris is coming into to town next week and we have much to look forward to in the next couple of weeks. I think my feet just might be starting to pick up the pace :)
