A baby sprinkle

Remember how I mentioned that when Eli was born, a friend showed up on our doorstep with a pan of macaroni and cheese, a hand crocheted bunny hat + diaper cover, and a handmade Amish apron from her trip to Pennsylvania?

That was Nicole.

Remember how I overslept the morning of Max's birthday party and my friend saved the day?

That was Nicole.
(And, April :) )

Remember how I had that awesome ducky baby sprinkle to celebrate the anticipated arrival of Eli?
(Pre-blog, so I guess you only remember if you were there in person!)

That was Nicole.
(And, Ish!)

My friend Nicole is truly one of the kindest people I know.
Just last night I said to Julian..."I think Nicole is up to something." and he said, " I bet it's something really nice."

In addition to being generous, compassionate, and a great listener...my friend Nicole is also pregnant! And I had the chance to pay her back a tiny bit by co-hosting her baby sprinkle last weekend.

It all started with a magical moment on the drive between Party City and Ish's house. Our backseat was filled with a dozen pink balloons, and the boys were laughing hysterically. Julian and I just looked at each other and smiled, children have a way of finding the whimsy in everyday life.

The first part of the shower was ladies only, so my crazy boys dropped me off and I helped Ish finish the final touches...

Ish made these gorgeous cupcakes and the paper flowers on them...she's talented!

Our play group is very boy dominated, so the theme for the shower was basically just PINK! We are so excited about this little girl and all of the various shades of pink that we can adorn her in :)

I was on favor duty...basically a collection of pink things- lotion, chapstick, gum, and lollipop, hopefully things to toss in a purse! Ish, April, and I had a good time putting together this diaper cake earlier in the week :D

Soon Nicole and all of the other guests arrived and we got the party started!

We ate lots of yummy food...Cheese + crackers, baked ravioli, mini-quiches, cucumber sandwiches, spinach salad, a fruit dessert pizza, scones, and of course the cupcakes!
Ish, April, and Nicole's mom Denise put together so much delicious food, and they were very smart in assigning me other tasks ;)

I brought the games, and we had a good time measuring Nicole's belly with ribbon, completing baby themed word puzzles and figuring out gender old wives tales.

For the prizes I also went with the pink and girl theme...nail polish, lipgloss, lotion, and chocolate!

We gathered around to watch Nicole open presents, and the baby girl stuff was just so sweet. Seriously. In my humble opinion, boy stuff doesn't approach the same level of cuteness!

Nicole's Mom made her this gorgeous blanket. The other side also has butterflies, which matches the nursery theme. SO special!
Our friend Rebecca made these two dresses out of onesies and fabric. The prints are so beautiful.

After presents I sort of harassed everybody for a group picture :)

We had a little more dessert and coffee and phase one of the sprinkle was complete.
The guys and the babies crashed the party and that is when things got really interesting!
The guys were kind enough to help us eat through our mountain of food, and the toddlers provided lots of noise.

It was a lot of fun celebrating this baby girl that we are all so excited to meet!
Now we just have to be patient and wait for October :)
