A visit to the pumpkin patch

Over the past couple of weeks we have been celebrating fall, pumpkins, and all things Halloween.
Last weekend we made a visit to a pumpkin patch nearby.

We didn't know until we arrived that this "pumpkin patch" is actually right in the middle of the town.
I actually had to edit out Super Target and Panera from the background of some of our photos.
It may not have been the most authentic pumpkin patch ever, but it was a good time nonetheless.

Did I mention that Max was grumpy on this day? It was pretty much impossible to get a smile from this kid.
We got to spend some time with friends, visit a petting zoo, and go on a hayride.

Had to get the annual picture of the boys with pumpkins :)

I continue to find these little corn kernels all over our house. Apparently Eli has a secret stash somewhere.

Even though everyone was a little bit tired and hungry we pushed through and carved pumpkins once we got home.
I'm not sure this was the best idea.
Max was extremely possessive of his pumpkin...and apparently all three were HIS.

Good thing Eli is pretty laid-back ;)
Once everyone had some dinner we settled in and admired our work.

Max was mesmerized by the pumpkins, which he named "spooky", "silly", and "happy".
It has been so fun  having him participate in the holiday traditions this year, I think he is beginning to understand the celebrations and his commentary is priceless.
