A couple more sunny January days...

January continues to be good to us...we find any and every reason to get outside in this beautiful sunshine.

This weekend we spent a morning with Uncle Steve, Aunt Stacey, and Haylee at the zoo.

just liked this tree...

Me, not being much of a football fan, thought we could squeeze in a couple hours of walking before the playoff game. We did it, but the guys were checking their watches every few minutes!
A highlight was the new baby leopard, so cute and fuzzy.
Steve and I were excited to take pictures of the kids on the train, but they made it about a quarter of the way around the circle before the train broke down.
The train broke.
This has been talked about non-stop by Max since we left.

Thankfully, the carousel was still working.

I think they gave us a double long ride, perhaps to make up for the train incident. Let's just say we were on there a really long time and someone was getting antsy about missing the game :)
Is it weird that when we go to the zoo I take almost no animal pictures?
Next time...maybe.

Yesterday we were back at the botanic gardens with friends to let the boys run that energy out.
I'm guessing that real winter will arrive eventually (and could very well last until May)? In the meantime we will continue to take advantage of these beautiful warm days while we can.

Watching gardeners work...

I have to admit, this year I am learning there are many things to love about January...
