A warm welcome, hello Christmas break!

It feels like time has slowed as we count down the days to Christmas break...I feel like a kid again, checking the clock every hour or two, eagerly anticipating having Julian home for two weeks. 

We sent Max to school in pajamas for a pj + pizza party on his last day of school this year. 

Once home from school, I told him he needed to eat, then head upstairs for an early bedtime. He was disappointed, but that quickly disappeared when he and Eli found special tickets under their pillows.

Tickets for a Christmas light ride!

This was our first year participating in the neighborhood's annual Christmas light drive/competition. 

We started at the clubhouse for some hot chocolate, checkers, and we tried to snap some family Christmas photos... 

Max was very diligent about holding on to his special ticket...

Cuties! Of course Mr. B just wanted to run around with Max and Eli instead of posing for pictures...but look at that smile!

We were all hungry so we grabbed a quick dinner at Qdoba and then it was time to take in the lights...

Eli oohed and aahed at every single house. He loved meandering slowly through the neighborhood with our Christmas tunes playing. Max lost interest about 20 minutes in when he realized his golden ticket wasn't going to get him on a real train, however, he did enjoy the houses that included lit up trains! Most of all he was excited about his unexpected bedtime escape and a new little adventure. 

B and April kept us company today as we counted down the hours until the end of the day.
 We kept busy with crafting, movies, and lots of wild boy play (thank you friend). 

When Julian walked in the door we let out a big cheer, hooray for Christmas break, it's finally here!
