A sister!

There was some big news around here this weekend...

My brother proposed to Jenny and she said, "Yes"!!

I was a little nervous on Thursday. I had a bad phone connection with Chris, who was way up in the mountains, and when I asked, "Did she say yes?" he replied, " I'll call you when we get to the car". 

Queue 2 hours of wondering and worrying. 

Happily, she did say "Yes" and they were just tired from their eventful trek up Longs Peak. 

  

I begged them to let me take some pictures, so we met at the Botanic Gardens in Denver on Friday for a quick visit before a dinner at Maggiano's. 

These are the easiest pictures I have ever taken; they were absolutely beaming with happiness....also Jenny somehow knows how to pose like a supermodel. 

But most of all these two just love each other very very much...genuine, authentic, enduring love.

. 

I have always been a little sad to miss out on the experience of having a sister. 

I am so excited to start building that bond with Jenny. 

We might be a little too old to play house and braid each others hair. 

But, I look forward to sharing the triumphs and challenges of marriage and motherhood.  

Plus she said she would share her 4 sisters with me too :) 

It makes me smile every time I think about how happy my brother is. 

And how Max already says, "Aunt Denny".
