In the midst of 'the most wonderful time of the year', the word favorite gets used a lot.
I really mean it, though, when I say the boys' Christmas performance is my favorite part of the advent season.
Hearing those little voices practicing Christmas carols for weeks ahead of time, dressing them up in cozy sweaters, waving to them from the audience, and inevitable shedding a few tears while they sing. I love all of it!
Max is a natural performer, he loves to be on stage. His class joined up with the other 4-5 year old class to sing "Carol of the Bells" (as you will see, the band started a bit fast the first time and they had a do over). Eli, on the other hand, was a little nervous about getting up on the stage for the first time. I had a pit in my stomach as he came onto the stage, I really didn't want this to be a bad experience for him. He surprised us all, he sang and signed his song beautifully! "Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star" is such a precious song (Max sang it too, last year). After each class sang their own song, they all sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" together.
We are so proud of these boys.
Here are the lyrics to "Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star" since it's hard to hear!
Verse 1:
Twinkle, twinkle Christmas star
Wise men followed from a far
In the night time
They were led
To the baby's manger bed
Twinkle, twinkle, Christmas star
Wise men followed from a far
Verse 2:
Angles, Angles hear us sing
Songs to greet the baby King
Told the shepherds where to find
The Savior of all human kind
Angles, Angles, hear us sing
Songs to greet the baby King
Nana made it to the performance, making it extra special. We celebrated afterwards at Red Robin, and then tucked the tired little singers into bed.
I am grateful for these two sweet souls I am blessed to call sons.
